Welcome to Term 2, 2023

The tamaiti return to kura on the 26th of April.

Just a reminder that school will be closed on the 24th of April for a Teacher only Day, as well as the 25th of April for ANZAC Day.

This term we are learning about the pollination and pollinators. We will be researching pollinators such as birds, insects, bats and the wind. While also learning about NZ pests, why they were introduced and how they have impacted our environment.

Free, Free, Free

Good News for Families for 2023

As our School has joined the Ministry of Education "No Donations Scheme" - there will be no school fees or donation requested. For being part of this scheme the Ministry will provide the school with additional funds

From these additional funds, our Board of Trustees have decided, for 2023, to provide free stationery to all children. The balance of the funds will be used to pay for school trips and camps - so these too will be free for children.

In addition Insoll Ave School is in the Ministry of Education's "Free Healthy Lunch Project". This means every school day... every child... will receive free lunch. Families may still like to provide a health snack for afternoon tea.

Breakfast Club

Due to the generosity of Sanitarium and Fonterra - Insoll operates a breakfast Club every morning from 8.15am until 8.40am. Children can go to the school Hall for their free breakfast.

Welcome to Term 1, 2023

Usually in Term 1, the school learns about water safety and survival skills. Unfortunately, our pool is still in the process of being upgraded and is not yet finished.

Matua Hare will be with Room 14 for the first two weeks while Whaea Ami is in Singapore visiting family.

This term, Room 14 are learning about the different types of weather - The Water cycle, the sun, wind, clouds, renewable energy and natural disasters (fire, earthquakes, psunami, volcanic eruptions, floods and droughts). During this time, we will be creating emergency plans for home. We will learn about our school procedures and practice them to ensure we know what to do if there were an emergency.
